My journey to holiday destination, i am having a good time solving puzzles & riddles with my DS which i must introduce to all puzzles & riddles lover which is Professor Layton and the Curious Village. There are hundreds of puzzles & riddles to be solve as you play along the role of Professor Layton and his young assistant, Luke. The main objective is crack the mystery of the Curious Village , St. Mystere. It will lead you to the next clue when you've solved a particular riddles or puzzles along your adventure.

Example of a puzzle : Get a ball Out.

The DS sylus works wonder as you try to resolve the puzzles. The fully voice-over movies is top notch considering playback in a DS system. Well, my only complain is the background music which gets a little dull since its continiously replay the same track. its still plays in my mind although i've stop playing it.

If you like the basic gameplay of exploration, conducting investigation and solving puzzles, then
Professor Layton and the Curious Village is definately for you . oh did i mention, you may also download new weekly puzzles via Nintendo WFC ?

Infact, there is a new sequel to it ~ Professor Layton and the Diabolical box which i am definately getting it.

すばらしきこのせかい aka The World Ends With You

This is another worthy title to share with all Nintendo DS user. "すばらしきこのせかい" a.k.a The World Ends With You. Its about Neku find himself in a dangerous game, not believing the fact that this game is real. Those who does not complete the mission in 7 days will be erased.

The sights and location focus in Shibuya , Tokyo. Neku will have three partners, Shiki ; Joshua and Beat each 7 days. Neku have the ability to scan different types of noise symbols. These noise symbols must be erased to read the thoughts of the people around. Upon erase, there is pins dropped and the chances of pin dropped depands on the difficulty, handicap (by adjusting the gauge level), and chain ( >chain =higher chances of pin drop). You'll need to equip these pins for battles. Each pins has its own unique ability and it can be evolve into higher level.

In the World Ends with You, Pin collection what i enjoy the most !! The background J-pop music is definately one of the best i've heard on NDS. There are almost more than 300 pins to collect. You 'll need to equipped yr self & partner with trendy clothes for defense, increase attack or special unique abilities purchase thru shops around in Shibuya. Funds can be obtain thru selling your pins. Be ready to spent more >50 hours or so if you're into pin collections. Don't be suprised, you'll be looking for a copy of The World Ends with You Soundtracks album !

This is the first time, i will like to review a guidebook. I decided to pick the Collector's Edition Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition. The picture above does not justify the actual guidebook itself as its one of the best looking and contents guidebook available with me. The publisher Prima Games has every hard cover copy of Fallout 3 Collector's Edition GOTY uniquely number, i guess it has printed more than 37k copies as mine number #37654.

The guidebook covers it all from info & stats on all perks, armor, weapons, items, factions, maps, main quest, side quest,and its expansions in 752 pages~ and its the most complete guide up to date. Even if you have completed the main quest, you might probably want to pick this Game of The Year Edition up again. It will takes you even further with this guidebook.

NDS : Dragon Quest V : Hand of the Heavenly Bride

This month featuring a truly JRPG ドラゴンクエスキV　天空花嫁 aka Dragon Quest V : Hand of the Heavenly Bride released by Square Enix in Feb. 2009. Unfortunately, the US version it is out of print/out of stock in Play-Asia and Amazon itself written : Discontinued by Manufacturer.I would like to express my gratitude to Tim, Playtime Electronics for getting me a copy of it so i can review and share it here.

Dragon Quest series has been making a debut in Japan. After 17 years, Square Enix makes it offerings to US and Europe market with the english translated copy. Now all of us can enjoy this epic RPG title. The story is based on a tale from You a childhood, adventure with dad, grows into adulthood and have kids on your own throughout yr adventure of quest. You'll be form parties ,exploring dungeons and have random turn based- battles. As expected, you'll need lots of grinding in this game , so be prepared to spend hundred of hours or so . To decide whether to pick this title up :

IGN reviewer Mark Bozon for Dragon Quest V states that " ...Dragon Quest V is one of the best RPGs on the system, and you'd be a fool not to pick this game up, and let it take over your life for a good 100 hours or so."

More story to come when i unsealed it and anticipate myself into the Dragon Quest story.

PS3 : Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves

Featuring game of the Month of October ( No Joke! ,probably Game of the Year 09) , PS3 : Uncharted 2 ~ Among Thieves. IGN gave it a whopping score of 9.5/10 . This time, the developer Naughty Dog has include Multiplayer mode which is not included in Uncharted 1 to increase endless replayability. It has multiple difficulty mode setting ranging from "Super Easy" to Crushing Mode". I would like to retain this blog spoiler free, not to go thru the Story Mode. Its all about Nate's Adventure.. hereby, i 've attached several screenshot which i've captured during my gameplay ~

My first impression of Uncharted 2 is jaw dropping , and i amazed with the detailed graphics and exciting gameplay experience. The BGM sound delivers extremely good quality sound adjustable from Stereo to PCM 5.1/7.1 sound mode. I hardly wanted to put down my PS3 controller until i've completed that particular single Chapter. Wonder how many chapters ? Here is no spoiler ! if you own a PS3, you just gotta buy *even without eating lunch for a week/snatch/rob *juz j'king to PLAY it .... ! Just to convince you again , i'll attached a trailer of Uncharted 2 video from YouTube.

The PSP Go has been launched in US & EU on 1st Oct, 09. Glad that i able to attain a PSP. go at the same time not in US or EU but in Malaysia ! Yes, it is indeed quite suprising.. thanks to our local gaming retailer, PlayTime.

The PSP go comes in two(2) colors variation either black or pearl white. i'd chosen the pearl white unit, which dazzles everyone who sees it :) The PSP go package consist of the Main unit, , AC Cord (100-240V), AC Cable, USB Cable, CD Rom and 1 set of printed materials.

Well, what are the form factor which makes me choose PSP go

1) The form factor
2) Internal built-in 16gb memory
3) Bright screen
4) The Design
5) Direct content DL thru PSN

The unit is solid & well built despite its size and weight. The mechanism of slide works well, indeed very smooth. The PSP go fits well at least for my hand (considerably small size). Physically, there is no UMD drive, and a little scale-down screen compared to the PSP. The functions are similiar.

Upon powering up, the display screen is very well lit-up around the screen. Scrolling down further and gives me a shock is it doesn't comes with ANY full-playable games .Before log-in into PSN, it prompts for an update ~the WIFI works well and suprisingly the system update takes about 2-3 minutes only. There are a range of variety for DL especially from US PSN from the PSP Category and PS Classic. For this particular month of Oct, PSP -God of War,(1.2gb) for 15.99 - will be my first digital content. if i could get 5 users to share, it is indeed very affordable.

My first PSP digital content : God of War.

There are 3 methods for content transfer to the PSP go.

1) Direct download from PSP go thru the pSN channel.
2) MediaGo direct software from PC to PSP go.
3) Direct download with Ps3 and transfer it to the PSP go (my preferable method)

Disadvantage of :
Method 1 is slow.
Method 2, after DL the file doesn't save into the PC, it needs to seek connectivity with PSP go.

Advantage of
Method 3 : Fast & the file resides in the PS3 until it is ready for install/transfer.

For a rough est. 1.5 hour to dl about 1.2gb with 512 Streamyx broadband w/ pS3 connectivity. The installation takes about 2-3 minutes which is considerably fast for a file which is almost 1gb.

Now the GOW is ready.
Will further update about my impression of the PSP go.

The game of the month : "Blazblue" featuring 2D High resolution fighting game. The Limited Edition features a two(2) disc original soundtrack containing 42 tracks by Guilty Gear's Daisuke Ishiwatar + remixes by DJ OH No ! Plus Bonus Blu ray movie containing basic tutorials, expert advice, character specific strategies and more...

Its well-worth to get the Blazblue R1 Limited Edition . As the price difference between normal R3 version is not much as its comes with extra goodies (2 disc Sountrack plus Blu-ray Disc) which is justifiable.

What i like most about this game is how straight foward this fighting game is. It features Story Mode (my fav), Training Mode, Time Attack Mode. The playstation controller works very well this game with the four(4) button scheme A,B,C & D. You can easily execute the special unique moves by one of the directional input of the R- D Pad. Although the graphics is 2D , it is amazing.
For arcade experience~ you might want to consider to invest in an arcade stick.

if you're a fan of fighting game, you MUST have this ! even if you are not a fan, you MUST at least try this title. Very well recommended ...

SFIV has arrived !　たのしいです。。

My copy of Street Fighter IV has arrived. Well, this time i bought it as used from a friendly seller in LYN. When he is about to shipped my copy of Valkyria Chronicles, he contacted me that his friend wanted to let go his SFIV R3 Korean Manual then i agreed, whynot. When i open the package, to my suprised it is Region 1 : Collector's Edition Street Fighter IV. He clarified that he found a slight crack on the SFIV R3 disc, which sometimes cannot load. Hence, he decided to sent me his personal copy of SF4 Collector's Edition to me with the same price. Thank you and i'd really appreciate that, you know who you are.This is definately a keeper to me, to be added into my collection of games.

Street Fighter is one of the legendary fighting games released by Capcom. The gameplay is 2D perspective with addtional 3D camera . Characters and environment rendered in 3D which is remarkably stunning and good. It has online gameplay too. Initially, you will started off with a selection of 16 characters, and 9 characters to be unclocked as you progress thru the game. The most noticeable added moves are Focus Attack & Ultra Combos. There are many moves, combos, super and ultra combo to explore with each of the character in this game. Performing the Ultra Combo at a right timing has a certain level of difficulty with the PS Controller, an arcade stick will be most-helpful.

if you a fan of VS game, this is definately what you're looking for. The verdict is MUST BUY !

I just acquired my very first arcade stick which is Madcatz Street Fight IV Tournament Ed. Arcade Stick. When it first released, its completely sold out even though it comes with a premium price. Not to mention play-asia .com sold out in its pre-order stage. So this time, i am lucky enough to own one as i manage to purchase it locally from a trusted seller, alexwlh from lowyat.net as he deliver it all the way frm kl to klang valley.

At the first glance, you can feels that the built of this arcade stick is very solid. when you press the action buttons, it feels smooth and bounce reaction is good. the joystick feels responsive too. i can't find any fault or complaint about it except for the price i paid :p All the vital components are made from a well known japanese manufacturer, Sanwa Denshi which is well known for their exceptionally quality parts for arcades.

So far i've tried it with Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat II and Tekken, really enjoy it but i still lose ok. Don't think that with this stick , i am god arcade fighter. Somehow it feels like playing in an arcade cabinet .By the time i posted this blog, i am still waiting for my copy of SFIV to be delivered to me...

今まとても幸せです !

At last, i gotten a brand new US unit of DS Lite which is enamel blue top with a matte black base or so called cobalt/black. I have surveyed a few retailers, and this is the best deal which i have got as my budget is less <580 for a NDSL. Its comes bundle with the R4 which i am not using it. I actually did consider about DSi but i just needed the SLOT1 for the DS paddle controller (so much of fun playing it with arkanoid & space invader, you cant miss it) which the DSi does not have it. The sandy matte black base provide a very good grip to it.. liking it very much now. The downside is the FOC screen protector is not good, has lotsa scratches on screen after using the stylus. Probably, next month i'll need to replace it with the official Hori Liquid Crystal Filter DS Lite which is definately better quality and durable.

Ok no more blogging, time for DS and probably some revision .

It s the 2nd day of the week, i have to work past midnight. Its 2 am now, completely exhausted. A little stressful tho, as the subject is new to me ~worst of all the direction is not clear. Sometimes my job scope overlapped. At the end of the day, what matter most is i learn.

The arrival of the Play-Asia package, really makes my day. Its about 1 & 1/2 week of waiting time, which is considerably fast with free shipping. Its Bioshock ! High Acclaimed game of the Year & NDS:Chrono Trigger Japan Edition. I save usd20 from its usual price of 54.90 for Chrono Trigger which is definately a steal of the day. The Jpn edition of Chrono Trigger comes with dual languages English & Japanese.

meanwhile it is remain sealed until i have time to kill.

Nintendo DSI ほしです

Nintendo DSi is the 3rd iteration of the world's best selling portable video game machine. It features dual camera, one on the external and the second one point to the user when it is flipped open.There are a wide selection of lens which user can manipulate with their photos. Another obvious change is a SD slot is made available in replacement of the GBA slot. Now user can easily save the edited photos & listening music thru the SDcard. In comparison it is also SLIMMER (12.6%) and offering a BIGGER screen(0.25 inches) than the NDS. It seems like not much but its easily noticeable. In terms of software, it is still using the NDS game card *voila .Plus a downloadable content will be made available thru the Nintendo DSiWare Application.

The DSi US version is set to be released on 3rd of April 09'. Price is unknown but certainly do hope to get one to enjoy.

Mario (マリオ） & Luigi（ゥイギ） : Partners in Time

When i return home after a long hectic working day, i got a surprised that the Mario & Luigi : Partners in Time has arrived. I did not expected it at all since its all the way from Sabah. It might take longer then a day. I was looking for this title for quite sometime until i bumped into lyn thread. Immediately, i ask the seller to reserve for me~ i was a lil' reluctant since the asking price is quite high. In the end we manage to work it out.

This title release since 2005. The first series which i've played in GBA is Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Its one of the best rpg game which i' ever played. Its hilarious and entertaining from storyline to action gameplay !! I am happy to get my hands on the 2nd sequal which is Partners in Time. I flipped thru manual, it is very well written about prologue, charac. details , controls ,actions. I thought the Baby Bowser in the manual are 'cute' - , so i shared it here.

Unfortunately, i not able to play it :( oh well.. time will tell.

It has been almost 3 months from the date of my last posting. What's new ? The sad news is my almost brand new NDS Pokemon Limited Ed. & Canon IXUS has been taken away. Unfortunately, up to now i not able to retrieve it back altho i know who's the culprit. Sad isn't it !

I 've stopped thinking about it !! Guess i won't until i able to afford another DS.

Another silly decision that i've make is exchange the Wii which has been serving me very well for a Pre-Amplifier. I still cannot believe it . Oh well, but its in good hand (i hope so).

The good news is i've got a 40" Sony TV, new digital camera. Glad with the camera, I can continue updating my blog for once again. I've no idea what to showcase, so i just decided to take some pictures of my Nintendo Collection.

Rock Band 2

Woohoo, Rockband 2 is here !! Finally i have gotten myself a set of RB 2 as for X'mas present. Rockband is in my wanted list for sometime since release of Rockband 1 but has been hesitate to get it since its a little pricey & its just me who's playing it (solo). The trade-off is i have to let go a number of my fav. Wii titles for Rockband. All i can say is i 've lotsa fun with it, likes the gameplay, solid built instrument esp. the guitar which is very well made, the selection of songs are good even the sound quality is extremely high quality.

Here is the preview of the Rockband 2 instrument. The special edition comes with a mic, a set of drum and a guitar. Firstly the drum looks easy to start with but it is not! you're definately requires lot of training.

You'll have even more fun when there is 3 players. Yesterday night was my first experience with 3 players, just can't stop playing it w/ lotsa laughter as well. There are huge selection of tracks or packs thru the PSN to choose from ~ rock/pop, metal, alternative and etc. what you need is yr CC to purchase yr favourite track. Thanks to friendly forumers from Rockband thread who takes the initiative to organise, plan and share the Rockband DLC with a minimum fund else i will not able to obtain these great tracks to play with. Thanks ! (you know who you are)

Wii : Animal Crossing 　どうぶつ　の　森　-City Folk

In Animal Crossing-City Folk, town has an unique fruit~ pear, cherry, orange, peach, so my town has been blessed with Pears. There are lots of activities to do in Animal Crossing likewise collecting fruits, fossils, fishing, seashells, decorate yr room based on themes & feng-shui, crossbreed flowers, buy new clothing and a treat yourself a new hair cut in town. Items such as fishes, insects, fossils you may donate and be display in the museum.

Thru the WIFI, you may connect to your friends to visit their towns. Furthermore, you can chat with each other using Wii Speak.

The time in animal crossing reflects real-time. So you gotta keep tracks the festive seasons likewise fishing tourney, Christmas, Harvest Festival and so on throughout the year long. This title will definitely has a lot to offer especially re-playability value. If you haven't play Animal Crossing before like me then you should pick this up.

The Post-Nuclear War - Fallout ﾌｵﾙｵﾄｶﾞﾒ

It has been sometime not updating this blog. Looks like i am busy with work. Haha of course not but with Fallout III ,so i'll just mention about it over here.

What's so special about Fallout III ? The story is about after the post-nuclear war, mankind survived under an underground Vault ~ you basically grew up there. One day, your dad escape to persuit his scientific research and peoples are trying to kill you. You escape the vault to the vast area of Wasteland .... (you gotta pick this title up and play)

I've first started playing Fallout 1 & 2 developed by Interplay if i remember correctly. The first time i play this game is when i was in secondary school like 12 years ago.I 'd still remember where we used to discussed/share with our classmates how to complete a certain quest, where to find a NPC, how to distribute out the skill points. After 12 years, Besthesda took the plunge and developed Fallout 3. Now time has changed, we discussed it thru Internet forums~ getting walkthru thru the internet and a guidebook as you play along it.

Its a big wasteland where you can explore. There are many quest to be accepted depending on your conversation . Quite surprisingly, i manage to complete the main quest within a week which is approximately about 50 hours of gameplay.

Learning Jap is fun ! 日本語　は　おもしろい　です！

Today is no OT day at work. After had my dinner, nice cold shower. I decided to sit down quietly to revise Japanese. I've been attending Japanese language course at ICLS for the past 3 1/2 months. This course consists of Beginner Level I (Hiragana), Level II (Katagana), Intermediate Level I(Kanji).. up to Advance Level. The class is being conducted in an interesting way, fun-filled, a fluent speaking japanese lecturer, Ms Hoshino （ほしの　さん）, vary from Primary students up to working adults. The most difficult part of understanding is the grammer.

For example :
私はねつが　ありまし　から　きようは　かいしゃ　へ　いきません。
The direct translation is
I am having a fever because i dont go to work.

that is madness !
but the true meaning is i am having a fever , therefore i don't go to work.

Sometimes, i am a little confused ~ but afterall its fun. The photos above is my jap learning tool my textbook, a kanji self-practice workbook and an electronic dictionary.

This is the story how i begin playing with Sudoku.

Last week, my gf and i went to The Garden, Mid-valley to take a stroll. I somehow ended up in Borders reading about how to play Sudoku . Frankly, i really had no idea how it works until that day onwards. Basically for a 9x9 grid, you'll just have to place 1 to 9 randomly in each row and column. I did thought of grabbing the Sudoku book for $32.99 before i left the bookstore since if i purchase a magazine, i'll get 20% on top of that. But i ended up empty handed.

I just remember that i can download Sudoku from PSN games for FREE ! After completing 4 puzzles in Easy stage, i just wanted more. Unfortunately, the Starter Pack contains 4 puzzles only. Without hesitation, i've decided to purchase the Easy Pack which cost me USD2.99=$10 which contains more puzzles, which i think its a good buy.

Wii -Final Fantasy Fables -Chocobos Dungeon.

The story is about Chocobo and Cid travel the world in search of rare treasures, but when they arrive in the the town of Lostime, they discover a town plaqued with forgetfulness. Every time the clocktower rings, people lose their memories.

In Final Fantasy Fables~ you will be Chocobo, and fights through dungeons to recover the townpeoples's memories and rescue the the town from oblivion.

What i particularly enjoy about this game is you can train in many of your favourite Final Fantasy Jobs and tactical too. You will also discover challenging mini games, pop-up card battles and etc.

Its an Adventure to Remember.

Now its time to pass it to another gamers. Hope he/she will enjoy it.

Nintendo Wii ガメ　コレクシヨン

My Nintendo Wii has accompanied me for a year now. The outlook may looks a little fragile , graphics displayed looks uglier compare to other consoles but its of one of my favorite consoles.

Initially due to budget constraint, i just manage to have the Wii hardware console + Wii Play.
As time passes, this is what i've ended up getting beginning from

スターウオー　ビークル　コレクシヨン　１

I came across these 1/144 scales Star Wars Vehicle Collection figurines from www.xl-shop.com.

It consists of a set of six(6) which is X-Wing StarFigter, AT-ST, Tie Fighter, Naboo N-1 Starfighter, ETA-2 Jedi StarFighter and lastly secret item which i am going to reveal is TIE Crawler. Despite the size of it, these figurines are very well made with precision plus fine details on it.

i am glad that i manage to reserve 1 set for myself- StarWars Vehicle Collection 1. These will be my first miniature figurines.
